Job Summary: The 1:1 Ratio Instructor works directly with individuals with behavioral and intellectual disabilities, providing personalized support and tailored instruction to meet their unique needs. The instructor helps to develop and implement individualized plans, promotes positive behavior, and supports the individual in achieving their educational, social, and personal goals.
Qualifications:
Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral and intellectual disabilities is highly desirable.
Skills:
-Strong understanding of behavior management techniques.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification may be required.

Physical Requirements:
-Capacity to engage in physical activities and interventions as required by the individual’s needs.

Job Summary: The Adult Day Training (ADT) Instructor is responsible for providing training and support to adults with Intellectual/developmental disabilities in a day program setting. The instructor will design and implement individualized and group activities that promote personal growth, social interaction, and community integration.
This position will maintain a ratio of 1 instructor to 10 participants or 1:5 ratio to ensure quality instruction and supervision.
Program Development and Implementation:
-Develop and implement individualized training plans based on participant needs, preferences, and goals.
-Design and facilitate group activities that enhance life skills, vocational skills, and social skills.
-Monitor and document participant progress and adjust training plans as necessary.
Participant Support:
-Provide direct support and supervision to participants, ensuring their safety and well-being.
-Assist participants with activities of daily living as needed.
-Promote an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages participant engagement and interaction.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant attendance, progress, and incidents.
-Prepare and submit required reports to the Program Director in a timely manner.
-Collaboration and Communication:
-Work closely with other ADT staff, including aides and volunteers, to coordinate activities and ensure program consistency.
-Communicate regularly with participants’ families, guardians, and case managers regarding progress and any concerns.
-Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
-Community Integration:
Plan and facilitate community outings and activities that promote social integration and access to community resources.
-Build and maintain relationships with community partners and resources.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
-Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to design and implement engaging and effective training activities.
-CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Demands:
-Ability to lift and support participants as needed.
-Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
Work Environment:
-This position typically operates in a day program facility and may involve local travel for community outings.
-Must be able to manage a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment with patience and professionalism.
